Sat. Dec. 3, 2011 – 9:00 a.m. Races start

  • 5k Girls H.S. Varsity Classic race, individual starts
  • 5k Boys H.S. Varsity Classic race, individual starts
  • 3k Boys & Girls H.S. JV/Novice Skate race, mass start
  • 3k Boys & Girls Jr. High Skate race, mass start - Boys & Girls start together, but race & are scored separately

Directions to Casper Mountain Nordic Ski Trails

  • Wyoming Blvd. (Hwy. 258) loops to the south of Casper and extends from I-25 (exit 185) on the east side to CY Ave. (Hwy. 220) on the west side. It is also known as Outerdrive.
  • Wolcott Ave. is a north/south street in the center of Casper that changes names as it passes Casper College to Casper Mountain Rd. (Hwy. 251).
  • Take Casper Mountain Rd. (Hwy. 251) south of Casper, south of Wyoming Blvd. (Hwy. 258), and follow it to the top of Casper Mountain.
  • At the top of the mountain there will be a fork in the road. The LEFT road leads to Casper Mt. Trails Center & Nordic Ski Trails. The road continues on to Bear Trap Meadow, snowmobile trails, summer picnic and camping areas, and further to Muddy Mountain. The right road leads to Hogadon Ski area (alpine/downhill), Girl Scout Camp Sacajawea, and the Archery Range.
  • Parking for access to Casper Mt. Nordic Ski Trails, and viewing of races, is available in the upper parking lot adjacent to the Casper Mt. Trails Center, or by continuing on the road to the lower parking lot (buses & cars), or further to the parking lot at Bear Trap Meadow. There is limited roadside parking and only in designated areas.
  • Outdoor bathroom facilities are available at the lower parking lot and at the start/finish stadium area of the Nordic ski races (in the Maze).
  • Casper Mt. Trails Center provides indoor bathroom facilities. Food and beverages are available for purchase. There are tables & chairs and sofas available surrounding a pellet stove. Free wireless internet is also available.
  • Opening ceremonies and closing awards presentations will be at the start/finish stadium area located on the top of the Maze above the Casper Mt. Trails Center.
  • Race maps and race results will be posted at the Casper Mt. Trails Center and at the start/finish stadium area in the Maze.
